Water and Salt

Distilled Water and Celtic Sea Salt are my go to's these days to bring my body into alignment.

A couple of months ago, I was dealing with intense muscle soreness. I thought—maybe gluten? Maybe dehydration? But I was already drinking plenty of water, so that didn’t seem right.

I decided to experiment and switched to distilled water. The pain disappeared. Curious, I tried drinking well water from a friend instead, and the soreness came right back. That’s when I started wondering—could it be the iron?

Here in Prince Edward Island, the soil is rich and red, packed with iron. Great for potatoes, maybe not so great for my body’s ability to carry light. Too heavy? I don’t know. And honestly, I don’t need to know.

I went back to distilled water and started adding Celtic Sea salt for minerals—just a tiny pinch under my tongue before drinking. My water intake increased dramatically, and I noticed something surprising: the salt actually takes away hunger pangs. Makes me wonder if my body wasn’t hungry but missing something else the salt is replacing.

Water Ceremony

The most important part of my water practice is my morning water ceremony. I fill a glass vessel with distilled water, light a candle, and burn my medicines—usually sage and sweetgrass, but you can use what resonates. I sweep the smoke over the water, lift it to the sky, and drop into my heart, letting the prayer come from my higher self.

I set an intention for the water—what I want it to carry to my cells and to all who drink it. Then, I give thanks to the water spirits for honouring my prayer and keeping my vessel strong so I can be the best lightworker possible on this plane.

I once learned from Indigenous Elders that water is the record keeper—it holds knowledge across time. That understanding changed everything for me.

Pro Tip: Salt for Energetic Boundaries

Salt isn’t just for minerals—it’s a powerhouse for energetic protection. I sprinkle it on windowsills and doorways to reinforce boundaries, and I’ve noticed something weird but amazing—when I sprinkle salt on clutter, whoever owns it eventually deals with it.

I also create salt circles around myself, my partner, and my pets. The dog doesn’t mind, but the cats? They hate it. They’re fine with smudge, but salt? Nope. Definitely something I need to investigate further.
